Kuils River — Kuilsrivier — is where a large share of the residential estates we look after sit, and estate work is its own discipline. The officer at the gate is the one residents see every day, deals with their visitors and contractors, and is the first person called when something is wrong at 2am.

In and around Kuils River we provide security at Zevenwacht Country Estate, Zevenwacht Village, Klein Zevenwacht, Zevendal Residential Estate, Zevenzicht Residential Estate, Eikenbosch Estate, Langverwacht The Oaks and Die Wingerd.

We have held Zevendal Residential Estate since 2012 and Zevenwacht Village since 2013. We also guard vacant land for Communicare in the Kuils River Jacaranda area — open ground, before anything is built on it, which is a different job from estate guarding: nothing to lock, no residents, and theft of material and illegal occupation as the real risks.

Estate briefs look similar on paper and differ sharply in practice. Gate layout, whether visitors are pre-authorised or phoned through, how contractors are handled during the week, and what happens when the power goes off all change the post count and the officer grade you actually need. None of that is visible in a per-guard rate.

We do not have an office in Kuils River and do not claim one. Our management, control room and dispatch are at 38 Platinum Business Park in Brackenfell, a few minutes up the road — close enough that supervision is a short drive rather than a cross-metro trip.
